Linlithgow Holiday Cottages: 3 Luxury Self Catering Cottages in Williamscraig, West Lothian, Scotland

Family owned and run these recently converted agricultural buildings, near the historic town of Linlithgow, are now comfortable stylish holiday cottages sleeping up to eight guests each, with children very welcome. The owners aim to make every stay as relaxing and enjoyable as possible!  Both Rose Cottage and Appletree Cottage have their own secluded hot tub.

Interior
Awarded 4th place in the 4 star rating for all of Scotland by Visit Scotland all the stone-built cottages are light, airy and spacious. Each cottage comprises an open plan living area, three bedrooms, including ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms and a mezzanine seating area.

The living area consists of a well equipped kitchen including a dishwasher, microwave and washing machine; an adjacent dining area seating for 6-8; and a comfortable lounge area with a log burning stove, flat screen television and DVD player.

The master bedroom in each cottage is en-suite and there is a separate family bathroom. Fully furnished, bedding and towels are provided as are a basket of logs and a welcome basket.

The cottages all have Wi-Fi, wooden floors and doors throughout.
In addition Rose Cottage has a four poster bed.

Outside
All cottages have their own grassed area, outside lighting and hard paved driveway. A play area offers a swing park and is a big hit with all the kids - young and old. The adjacent small field provides additional space for football and other games.

Area
Linlithgow, 1.5 miles away, is an historic town with plenty for visitors to do and see, and a good variety of shops, restaurants and pubs. From here train and buses link to the main shopping centres in Glasgow and Edinburgh, Falkirk and Stirling. Livingston Designer Outlet is 20 minutes away.

Linlithgow golf course is next door, and welcomes visitors at special rates by arrangement with the cottage owners. There are two fishing lochs nearby one of which offers a discounts holiday cottage guests. Linlithgow Sports Centre is one mile away.

There are many beautiful, tranquil walks in the immediate area, including a direct path to Cockleroy and Cairnpapple Hills where there once stood ancient henges and forts. These hills have excellent mountain bike tracks and abundant wildlife including over eighty different types of birds.

Williamscraig Cottages are ideally located for visiting Edinburgh, Scotland's famous capital city. During the Edinburgh Festival the city takes on a new dimension with street performers, comedy, music, and theatre, and a wealth of side attractions. Open top bus tours are a great way to get a feel for the city and, of course, there is the famous Edinburgh Castle.

Glasgow is well known for its vibrant inhabitants and great shopping. Only 40 minutes from Linlithgow, it has much to offer visitors.
St Andrews is approximately 90 minutes away and Stirling is much closer.
