Maldon is a picturesque town at the head of the River Blackwater, with a rich variety of historic buildings, attractive parks, local amenities and a good range of shops, cafes and restaurants. It also offers great birding, crabbing, walking and has a selection of quayside pubs. Guests choosing to take a trip will leave the pressures of modern life ashore and be able to relax and explore the “secret waters” of the East Coast, visit quiet anchorages and historic riverside villages, enjoy the abundant wildlife and stunning sunsets. Our crew will ensure an enjoyable experience of sailing on these majestic historic craft. The East Coast Rivers are internationally recognised for their wintering bird populations. In April and October the barge provides a comfortable and warm base with access to creeks and rivers full of wildfowl and waders. Sailings are also available from Faversham in Kent and Mistley in Suffolk. |
