Tarn Outdoor Centre is a superb and unique barn conversion in a traditional Cumbrian hill farm setting, in acres of grounds amidst open countryside. The magnificent situation has spectacular views over the Uldale Valley, fells and the Howgills making it an idyllic base for walkers and a peaceful, rural retreat for those wanting to get away from it all. It is a great venue for parties, celebrations and family get-togethers. |

The centre offers self catering group accommodation for parties of up to 24. Groups of a higher numbers can be accommodated by camping in the grounds of the Centre, but please discuss this with the owners’ before booking.
The
character of the barn is maintained with exposed beams, stonework and
rustic oak floors with amazing views over the Uldale Valley and
surrounding fells. Set out on the first floor of the original barn are
the kitchen/dining room/lounge.

There is a large games field adjacent to the centre with games equipment provided for football, rounders, cricket and badminton. With large grounds comprising a lawned area, small tarn and meadowland there is ample space around the centre for guests to stroll, enjoy the views, have a barbecue or just relax and enjoy the panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. |

Tarn Outdoor Centre is situated in the Howgill Fells between the market towns of Kirkby Stephen (7 miles to the north) and Sedbergh (5 miles to the south). The Centre is in a unique position situated on a hillside with views of the Uldale Valley to the east, Cautley Spout to the south west, West Baugh Fell to the south and Wild Boar Fell to the north east. It is an idyllic location for exploring the vast expanse of hills and valleys in this beautiful, unspoilt and little discovered/explored area of the Upper Eden valley. The Centre is a good base to enjoy the nearby Yorkshire Dales, and the Lake District National Parks and there is a wealth of other local activities to enjoy. |
