Penney Cottage is a charming 18th
century English Country Cottage with beams, a wood burning stove and
character features, in the 14th century village of
Heytesbury on the edge of Salisbury Plain. Converted from two
labourers’ cottages it now comfortably accommodates up to 6 adults. |

Tastefully furnished and nicely presented Penney Cottage makes a good self catering holiday cottage for families with teenagers, professionals working in the area and couples. The dining room contains a large dining table to seat 6 dinner guests while the spacious living room has exposed beams and a wood burning stove in a brick fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen contains an electric stove, microwave, refrigerator and dishwasher, with enough utensils, dishes and crystal to serve a full 3 course meal for 6 people. In the laundry room is a separate washer and dryer, ironing board & iron. The cottage provides three double and one single bedroom. It has one and a half bathrooms. |

Situated mid-way between Bath & Salisbury, about 5 miles southeast of Warminster, the village is just off the A36 Bath to Salisbury road. Driving time from London Heathrow and Gatwick airports is about two hours. Heytesbury is a small village with 2 pubs, a church, and a post office/store. The closest main line rail station is in Westbury, Wiltshire (10 miles away) with direct trains from London Paddington. Close by are Warminster, with a good range of shops and services, and lots of pretty villages. Within a short drive are Frome, Shaftesbury, the stone circles of Stonehenge and Avebury, Salisbury with its beautiful cathedral and the Roman City of Bath.
