We send you a comprehensive list (usually 50-100 properties) of all the top quality self catering properties in the key area(s) that you have chosen. Small towns and villages are keyed into the nearest city or large town within a 20 mile radius. You can then contact the owners direct and save up to 30% on the cost of your accommodation.

We have over 20,000 properties on our database - that's almost everything there is in the UK and Ireland. Click the map for a list of areas and the number of properties in each area.

How to order
Go to our secure (SSL) online order form and in the "Area" space(s) type in the nearest city or large town to your destination. Be as specific as you can in stating your areas. Don't worry if your chosen destination is not on our list of areas or you're not sure which is the nearest large town or city. Just fill in your destination(s) on the online form anyway and we will find the correct area(s) for you.

Try to avoid using broad phrases like "Sussex" or "Southern England" or "Lake District" unless you want us to choose the specific areas for you.

It often makes sense to order the neighbouring areas in addition to your prime area(s). For example if you order the Oxford list you might also order the Banbury and Chipping Norton lists. This will ensure that you have maximum choice particularly at peak times

If you choose an area with few properties we will usually send you the neighbouring areas at no extra cost. 

Handling Fee
Unlike most holiday companies CottageNet does not charge commission for property rental, therefore you pay only the owners rental tariff. You can save up to 30% of the rental cost per week by booking direct with the owner. We charge you only a small handling fee of £12 ($17 US) for up to 3 areas and a further £2($3) for each extra area.

If you are looking for a particular type or size of holiday property and the exact location is less important, then this service is for you. Fill in our online order form and we will send you a comprehensive list (usually 50-100 properties) of all the top quality self catering properties that match your criteria. For example you might be interested in....

Large properties sleeping 10 or more in the South of England

                                  or

Thatched cottages in a rural location in the West Country

It can be anything you like in any part of the UK and Ireland.

How to order
Locations are broader for this service and we ask you to use the following terms where possible:

Go to our secure (SSL) online order form  and enter your location(s) in the "Location" box (such as "Northern England" or "Wales" etc).

In the "Criteria" box (at the end of the form) tell us your special requirements (such as "Properties with 5 bedrooms" or "Houses on the coast" or "Suitable for the disabled" or "Thatched cottages") whatever you like!

The handling fee for a special search is £12 ($17 US) for one location and a further £3 ($4) for each additional location. Most Special Searches produce 50-100 properties per location depending on your criteria.

In the unlikely event that we do not find you a reasonable number of properties then you pay nothing.

We offer a prompt and efficient service. In most cases your accommodation lists will be e-mailed to you by return on the same day that the order is received. 

In the event that we need to post the lists to you please note that there will be an extra charge of £2 for postage throughout the UK and £3 ($5) for postage outside the UK.
