A tastefully furnished, well equipped homely holiday cottage

	Old Railway Cottage is a comfortable traditional cottage offering well equipped self catering accommodation in the peaceful hamlet of Penstone, in the heart of the Devon countryside, west of Crediton. It offers a haven in which to unwind from the pressures of everyday life. Interior From the moment you step inside the front door, you will feel completely at home. The cottage is tastefully furnished and equipped with everything needed for a carefree stay, including linen and towels. Downstairs the lounge/dining room provides a comfortable setting for relaxation and eating. Besides the sofas there is a satellite LCD TV, DVD player and a small library of books. Heating is provided by a multi-fuel stove which also heats the radiators in the rest of the house. The modernised fitted kitchen is well equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and everything to make the practicalities of your holiday as easy as possible. Upstairs, in addition to the shower room with WC, are three bedrooms providing ample accommodation for four or five guests in the double, single and bunk rooms. Each room is very comfortable enabling guests to enjoy a peaceful nights sleep. The cottage is available all year round and perfect for a summer holiday or out-of-season break.

	Outside

	There is a small courtyard garden with seating and a carport to the side of the cottage. Additionally guests have the use of a nearby community area located by a stream with a glade and secluded woodland corner. There is also provision for barbecues.

	Local area
	The hamlet of Penstone is situated in the Mid Devon parish of Colebrooke. It is tucked away from busy roads and noise and surrounded by glorious Devon countryside. It provides an ideal base for nature lovers, walkers and cyclists. The award winning "New Inn" pub is located half a mile away in the next hamlet. The historic market town of Crediton, birthplace of St Boniface, is only four miles away. Here there is a full range of shops and eating places plus a weekly farmer's market. Mid Devon is full of charm and interest, with its numerous rural communities and patchwork of fields. It borders North and South Devon and the wilds of Exmoor and Dartmoor to the East and West. All are within easy reach by car as are the numerous tourist attractions throughout the county. In spite of the tranquil location it is surprisingly accessible from the M5 and A30. Devon Devon is Unique with two different coastlines - bare rugged cliffs, surf washed sands, white pebble beaches, stretches of golden sands, stunning resorts, hidden wooded estuaries and the Jurassic Coast - England's first natural World Heritage Site.
