    Retaining its vaulted beamed ceiling, fireplace and arched windows this Northumberland holiday cottage has, at its heart the former school room. This large welcoming space - now converted into the main lounge is 35' long with a TV/video, sofas, double bed settee and oil burning stove. The room opens out, through double doors, to a sunken patio area with furniture. The kitchen/dining room includes an electric cooker, microwave and dishwasher and to the rear a laundry room contains an automatic washing machine.

    Upstairs this character rental property benefits from a mezzanine lounging area with sofa, dining table, TV & bar football game. The bedrooms comprise two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunk beds. Two additional guests may be accommodated on the bed settee. Shower room with W.C. and a second separate W.C.

    Outside
    The sunken patio garden extends the living space and the well stocked private garden is secure, with a shed and gas BBQ. Parking for 4 cars on the drive.

    The cottage is south of Haltwhistle and within a short drive of the Northumberland National Park in a lovely area in the rural heart of the South Tyne Valley. Close by are numerous country walks & cycle routes with the nearest pub only 3 minutes walk. All local facilities, shops and takeaway food can be found at Haltwhistle, 4 miles/5 minutes from the Old Chapel. A country pub serving food is just one mile away.

    Other nearby attractions include Hadrian’s Wall, the famous Vindolanda ancient Roman Fort and a steam railway. The historic towns of Hexham and Carlisle are just 12 miles away. Within a 40 minute drive guests can travel east to Newcastle, with its Metro Centre, or west to the northern lakes of The Lake District. Kielder Water, the Scottish Borders and Gretna are all within easy reach. A visit to Alston, the highest town in Britain, will take you on the road voted the most scenic drive in Britain.
