Interior
The cottages are identical and have fitted kitchens and a sitting room with cosy wood-burning stove, for which logs are provided. The television can be moved, by arrangement, into the first floor bedroom. The bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and a hand carved four-poster bed, a fitted wardrobe, bedside furniture and lighting.
The cottages are well equipped and have their own full central heating system, with lashings of hot water, which, like the electricity, is fully inclusive.
Outside
The cottages have enclosed gardens with a small terrace ideal for breakfast or an evening G&T. Well behaved dogs are also welcome to come and enjoy the tranquility of this lovely part of the world.
Local area
Frogmore Farm is situated just 8 miles from the beautiful World Heritage coastline. The popular Old Market towns of Sherborne (16miles), Dorchester (12miles) and Bridport (9miles) are all well worth a visit. There are also many National Trust properties nearby.
The cottages are well served for amenities with shops and a pub in Maiden Newton, about 2 miles away, which also has a top award winning restaurant - Le Petit Canard. As the cottages are on a working farm, guests are also able to walk within the owners’ farmland of 130 acres of a very beautiful valley with an abundance of wildlife. Come and visit for yourselves - a warm welcome awaits you!
Bridport
Bridport was once the focus for the rope and networking industry in the 13th century, hence the long, narrow rope-walks used originally for twisting and drying the cord and twine made in Bridport. Today it is dominated by the Georgian Town Hall, built in 1786. Its medieval Chantry House also attracts much interest. Visit the Bridport Museum and follow the Ropemaker's Apprentice as he guides you through the history of this Saxon town. Bridport is a hospitable place, a good place to browse and shop.
Dorchester
The county town of Dorchester has much to offer the visitor, with its bustling shopping precincts, elegant 18th century houses and vital cultural life.
Dorchester's history can be traced back to the Iron Age at Maiden Castle, when the Romans captured the site, they founded the town of Dorchester. Further evidence of Roman occupation can be found south of the town at Maumbury Rings, where the Romans built an amphitheatre capable of seating 10,000 people.
It was in Dorchester in 1685, Judge Jeffreys presided over the Bloody Assize, following Monmouth's defeat at Sedgemoor.
