Creeksea Place Barns is located on a picturesque farm just outside the town of Burnham on Crouch in Essex. The site features a popular fishing lake and has access to a variety of coastal footpaths. Creeksea Place Barns is within a 10 minute walk of Burnham on Crouch train station with direct routes to London, and Creeksea golf and sailing clubs are just down the road! The Essex coast is popular with sailors, bird watchers and walkers. It offers peace and quiet in a sparsely populated area of ancient villages and rolling countryside.
Fishing and Farming
This working farm consists 100 acres of arable land. The farm houses a friendly flock of sheep and 3 boisterous pigs! The site also features a popular fishing lake, stocking carp. Visitors to Creeksea Place Barns can enjoy a relaxing day of fishing or spend time feeding the animals!
Burnham on Crouch
Burnham on Crouch is an historical, riverside town, often referred to as the 'Cowes of the East Coast' due to the popularity of sailing in the area. In August during 'Burnham Week' sailing enthusiasts converge from all over the country on the 15 mile stretch of water from the town to the open sea. The riverside walk has numerous nautical attractions and the quayside is lined with beautiful old houses. Burnham on Crouch has a range of excellent pubs and restaurants, and the town centre is well served with convenience stores and interesting shops.
Walking and Cycling
Creeksea Place Barns has access to a range of beautiful coastal footpaths for walking and cycling. Enjoy views of the River Crouch, explore the countryside, or walk into town for a drink at the pub!
Sailing and Golf
Creeksea Sailing Club and Burnham on Crouch (members only) Golf Club are within walking distance of the holiday accommodation. The main course is a Parkland type with 18 holes over 6056 yards, with a par of 70. Creeksea Sailing Club provides excellent launching facilities on the River Crouch, away from the mass moorings off Burnham. The club is affiliated to the RYA and has a boathouse with changing area, toilets and showers.
Other things to do... Mangapps Railway Museum is a brilliant place to visit with family and has a demonstration line with steam and diesel locomotives. In nearby Bradwell on Sea, St Peter's on the Wall is a fine example of a 7th Century Saxon Church. The sea walls around the Dengie Peninsula offer picturesque walks, and birdwatching is a popular pastime.
Located within this region of rural Essex are the coastal town of Maldon, Heybridge Basin and South Woodham Ferrers. Also within easy reach are Chelmsford – the county town, Wickford and the antique centres at Battlesbridge.
Providing luxury holiday accommodation, sleeping up to 10 guests, Creeksea Place Barns comprise two luxury self-catering holiday lets; River View and The Hay Loft. Each unit has a large, open plan living area with relaxed seating and dining areas featuring high ceilings and exposed beams and a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and fridge.
Both units have a modern bathroom with a bath and power shower, and two beautiful double bedrooms furnished with antique furniture, soft linens and feather pillows and duvets. River View and The Hay Loft both provide digital TV, a DVD player, linens and towels, and access to free wireless internet.
