Exploring the interior with its expanse of rooms will be a pleasure. These include the most impressive two storey gallery ballroom, a fine staircase, Tudor sitting room and library. Many original features remain with Victorian heaters, canopied first floor balcony, decorative fireplaces and pillared porticos. Although large the house has a warm happy atmosphere and guests will feel relaxed and comfortable in these generous surroundings at once. The front entrance leads into the Hall with a spiral staircase to the first floor. The inner hall leads to the Ballroom with grand piano through to the sitting room and French windows to the terrace and gardens. The second sitting room has decorated white wood panelling, and is the oldest part of the house, ideal for relaxing at any time. The library gives ample opportunity for researching the history of the house or planning the route for a day's touring. There is a huge panelled dining room, a snooker room with full size table, breakfast room, fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and a large children's play room with table tennis, darts and small billiard table. There are two cloakrooms with toilet and basin on the ground floor. On the first floor there are 15 bedrooms including two with four poster double beds and 9 bathrooms. Another bedroom has a single four poster bed and the rest comprise 5 with double beds and 5 with twin singles and 2 with single beds. Many of the bedrooms have coal effect fires, one has a study and another has a large nursery with 2 cots. Five of the bedrooms have Victorian ball and claw baths, 2 with normal baths and 2 with showers.
The
house enjoys full central heating. Bed linen and towels are included.
A full catering service is available. Two cots and three high chairs
are available. Pets are welcome. Sorry no all male or all female
parties will be accepted. |
