Ravensprings is a large house in a quiet residential location offering spacious self catering accommodation for 14/16 guests. Built for the Mayor of Brighouse, West Yorkshire in 1896, it is a detached corner house full of character and original features. Occupying a commanding position, only 2 miles from the M62, this splendid Victorian home makes an ideal venue for family reunions, large groups, celebrations and touring holidays. |

The grand entrance hall leads into the 34' sitting room with lovely mahogany panelling from the great ocean liner The Mauritania. Amply furnished for up to 18 people to congregate and relax, it has a lovely open fire, beams and a very pleasant aspect. The gracious dining room overlooks a small park with a model railway which is used at weekends (public welcome on open days). The room has a lovely ambiance with 2 dining tables seating 12 and 6, and an antique hatch through from the well equipped kitchen. Here guests will find a gas/electric range cooker, dishwasher, microwave, wine rack etc. and a breakfast area with a large table seating 10. A utility room houses the washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board etc. and there is a ground floor cloakroom. |

On the first floor are four bedrooms and a large family bathroom with shower. The first double bedroom contains a king-size 4-poster bed and antique maple and walnut suite. The ensuite bathroom has a power shower, antique French double ended bath, lavatory and wash handbasin. This room is also accessible from the hall. A second double bedroom has a super king-size bed, Victoria mahogany suite and an ensuite shower room. The third double bedroom contains an antique oak French bed and an antique oak Arts and Crafts suite. Double bedroom number four has an antique wrought iron bed, antique satin wood suite and vanity basin. The family bathroom has a power shower and a six foot bath, double basin, bidet, lavatory, travatine tiles with led lighting. On the 2nd floor there are 2 further large bedrooms and a huge family bathroom. The large family bedroom has a round super king-size bed and two divan guest beds (ideal for up to 6 children), with lovely views to the countryside. A double bedroom offers interesting views across the town to the hills beyond the townscape and contains a king-size bed, antuque maple and walnut suite and an antique crib. The pretty family bathroom contains an antique Scottish bath. |

Ravensprings’ easy access and central location makes it the ideal place from which to explore Yorkshire. It is close to both Halifax and Huddersfield, only 20 minutes from Leeds City Centre by car, 45 minutes from Manchester City Centre and 30 minutes from the Leeds/Bradford Airport. This is an excellent self catering house for guests gathering from across England and further afield via motorways, rail services and local buses. Only a short drive away are the Dales and Moors with their fabulous scenery and miles of walking, riding, cycling etc.; within a 25 minute drive is Bronte Country and the fascinating steam railway town of Haworth; the attractive former mill town of Hebden Bridge lies 20 minutes distant. Locally there are numerous, restaurants, pubs, bars, nightclubs, art galleries, theatres, stately homes, film & TV locations (Last of the Summers Wine at Holmfirth), Heritage Centres and historical museums. The Rochdale Canal offers barge hire and tow path walks and horse riding is available locally. You will be spoiled for choice with plenty to occupy the whole family. |
