This lovely large self catering house is fine example of Georgian architecture complete with most of its original features. In a beautiful area, just 5 miles from the popular West Wales Coast and its unspoilt sandy beaches, there are plenty of outdoor activities nearby for all ages and lots to see.
Interior
Centrally heated, light and airy the ground floor rooms all offer direct access to the garden via French windows. A wealth of wood panelling with carved columns and ornamental plasterwork all add to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The entrance hall has a fireplace and piano while oak stairs from the second hall lead to the 1st & 2nd floors.
The spacious (30'x18') original Georgian drawing room features a large open fire, comfortable seating, a round games/dining table, TV, DVD & video. The dining room seats 12 to 16 at a beautifully made refectory table and additional extra table. The kitchen also offers some informal dining space and is fully equipped with gas hob, electric double oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. Ground floor cloakroom with WC and hand basin.
On the first floor are three bedrooms and a large bathroom with bath, shower, hand basin and WC. Bedroom 1 – the Master Bedroom - has twin beds and an open fire.
Bedroom 2 – contains a 4 foot double bed & a sleeping platform accessed via steps suitable for children (at parents discretion). Bedroom 3 - the second Master bedroom has a double and a single bed.
On the second floor are 3 further triple bedrooms and a modern bathroom with a shower, hand basin and WC. Bedroom 4 has twin beds, a single bed and hand basin; bedroom 5 is 'L' shaped with a single bed, a double bed & a hand basin and bedroom 6 has a double bed and a single bed.
All beds are made up with duvets, bed linnen is provided. Towels are not included. Kettles and tea / coffee making facilities are available for all rooms. Cot and high chair supplied.
Additional Facilities
The Old Library serves as a playroom, with table tennis, table football & outdoor games. For children there are toys, videos & books.
Outside
In front of the house an enclosed garden has outdoor furniture and a large gas barbeque. To the side is a car park for 15 cars. Beyond are 3 acres of level grassland for games and play, a net and a den for children and 10 acres of magical woodland. The woods and grounds are managed ecologically with many wild flowers, a variety of trees, and abundant wildlife, including foxes, badgers, owls and bats.
The owners also have a collection of animals all roaming freely - 5 donkeys, 1 ponies, William the Kune-Kune pig, chickens and a westie - a happy and friendly lot, much the favourite with the children.
Local area
Situated above the picturesque Teifi Valley midway between the small and friendly market towns of Cardigan and Newcastle Emlyn Blaenpant Mansion is within 10 miles of many of Ceredigion's and North Pembrokeshire's lovely sandy beaches and coves, most of them with the 'blue flag' and 'green coast' awards.
Cardigan Bay is a special area of conservation with a resident population of bottle-nosed dolphins, porpoises, grey seals and rare sea birds. For walkers there is the coastal path, Teifi-marshes trail or directly from Blaenpant, a circular walk to Cenarth with its waterfalls, pubs and tea rooms and an excellent indoor swimming pool.
A wide choice of outdoor activities include watersports, angling, rock climbing, go-karting, horse riding, dolphin and bird watching. Places to visit, events, bicycle routes, mountain bike trails etc. for any age or inclination may be found on the Links page of the owners’ web site
