This detached self catering farmhouse, which dates back to the 16th century, is
surrounded by open countryside on our 400 acre working family farm, where
you can enjoy extensive views of the Begwyn Hills and can see the Black
Mountains and the Brecon Beacons, along with woodland and
wildlife. It is situated in absolute peace and quiet in an unspoilt superb
location at the end of a private lane, secluded but not isolated. |

Oak beams, thick stone walls
and original bread oven in the large farmhouse kitchen retain much of the
character of the original building, whilst every modern convenience is
provided to make your stay comfortable whatever the season. There
is an enclosed gravel area at the rear of the house and a large private
garden and lawn at the front and side. There is garden furniture and a
barbecue. Ample
parking space for 5 or more cars, and an outside building for bicycles
in the summer, and sledges in the winter!

A must for nature lovers, nearby is Rhosgoch Bog, a conservation area, it is a birdwatchers' paradise, but is only to be accessed with a pass or guide. On the 'Roundabout' on the Begwyns, on a clear day there are absolutely spectacular views and you can see seven counties. Painscastle has the remains of a Norman Castle. Hay-on-Wye, approx. 6 miles, is home to the largest selection of second-hand book shops in the world. It is an old traditional market town with small streets and many antique shops. There is a community tennis court in Rhosgoch (3 miles), also a licensed golf course. Local pony trekking and trout pool nearby (fly fishing only). Wye Valley, Offas Dyke, Brecon Beacons, Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, Brecon and Hereford are all within 20 miles. Local Inns, shops and restaurants 4 miles. Country walks from the doorstep. Very well equipped leisure centres and swimming pools within half an hour's drive. |
