    Local area
The rural hamlet of Wonastow lies a few miles south west of Monmouth off the A40 Monmouth to Abergavenny road. It is a small community near the Wales/England border, in an area rich in history.

Monmouth is a Welsh Borders market town situated at the confluence of three rivers: the Wye, Monnow and Trothy. Famous as the birthplace of Henry V, Monmouth boasts a host of historical sites and a bustling main street. A medieval 13th-century bridge spans the River Monnow, unique in Britain as it is the only remaining preserved bridge of its design. The town boasts a theatre, cinema, regular Friday and Saturday markets, a castle and a large number of excellent golf courses in the surrounding area.

From here guests have easy access into the beautiful Wye Valley and the ancient Forest of Dean. Also close by are The Black Mountains, the Usk Valley and Abergavenny.
