    Delightfully set within a large secluded garden, guests can enjoy the fine views and walk to the good local public house.

    Interior
    This period property dates back more than 200 years and retains a wealth of original features including flagstone floors, a spiral stone stairway, beamed ceilings and large open inglenook fireplace. Although traditionally built of Cotswold stone, the cottage has been decorated in a chic, contemporary style and provides all the modern facilities essential for guests’ comfort and relaxation.

    The modern kitchen is fully equipped for the gourmet chef and the attached dining area looks out over the garden to open views beyond. The larger of the two lounges is fitted with 2 comfortable sofas, a large open fire, to supplement the full central heating in all rooms, a TV and DVD. The second lounge opens onto the garden and courtyard and is equipped with a Bose ipod docking station. In addition there is a downstairs toilet and a separate luxury shower room.

    The double bedroom in the original house is accessed from the large lounge by an original curved stone staircase and has a TV and CD. The adjoining bathroom/dressing room is large with bath and toilet. The two additional bedrooms are stylishly decorated with the one to the rear of the property enjoying beautiful views over the adjoining meadow and ford and a Juliet balcony to the garden.

    The luxurious bathroom is heated under-floor for that extra degree of indulgence and is equipped with a deep, double-ended bath for relaxing.

    Outside
    The Chestnuts has a large secluded garden, containing areas for outdoor dining and relaxing and there is garden furniture for guests use. The views are some of the very best in the village, overlooking the adjoining horse paddock, ford and duck pond beyond.

    Shilton
    , near Burford, is in a central location for exploring the Cotswolds, but should you never wish to leave the village guests can wine and dine in the excellent Freehouse public house that is just seconds walk from the cottage.

    Just a few miles to the east stand the dreaming spires of Oxford, home to one of the worlds most renowned seats of learning and cultural centres. Within an hours drive you will discover a host of landmark towns and attractions including the medieval ramparts of Warwick and Stratford upon Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare. Alternatively heading west down the Roman Fosse Way lie the golden stone villages of the Gloucestershire Cotswolds, including the market towns of Cirencester, Moreton in Marsh, Stow on the Wold and the larger centres of Cheltenham and Bath.
