    Interior

Each self catering cottage has a light, modern well equipped fitted kitchen, with oak flooring and high quality utensils, crockery and cutlery. As the owner is a chef he hopes guests, when not eating out, will enjoy cooking in lovely surroundings. The farm can supply beef, game and pork. The kitchen leads to a very attractive open-plan sitting room with inglenook fireplace, log burning stove and satellite TV. An archway leads through to a dining room and separate cloakroom

Upstairs there are three pretty bedrooms. The master bedroom has a 5ft double bed with a large walk-in cupboard. The second twin bedroom, where the beds can be combined to become a 6ft double bed, has a large airing cupboard. The third bedroom has full sized bunk beds. The bathroom has a separate power shower above the bath.

Babysitting services provided by arrangement. Crisp linen, fluffy towels and toiletries are included in the price. Central heating and real log fires make the cottages a cosy winter retreat.

    Local area

Situated under the South West Downs the cottages enjoy stunning views with good country walks from the door. Excellent pubs and restaurants within ten minutes drive. An excellent touring base for Stonehenge, Longleat, Wilton, Salisbury, Stourhead, the Roman City of Bath, and the New Forest.

From stately homes to landscape gardens, countryside walks to historic churches, it is safe to say that Wiltshire has a little bit of something for everyone.  Wiltshire is home to more of my favourite places than just about anywhere else in the UK. Let's start with one of those places, Avebury Stone Circle, near Marlborough.

The huge stone circle at Avebury is unique in that many of the cottages of the village of Avebury are located within the standing stones that make up the circle. An excellent museum in the village tell;s the story of the excavation and exploration of the circle. But don't stop there, Avebury is just one of a number of fascinating ancient sites in the surrounding area.

Just a few miles away is Silbury Hill, the largest purpose-built structure in Europe, More material was used to construct this enigmatic conical mound than was used in the Great Pyramid - and no one has yet established why it was built! Almost directly across the road from Silbury Hill is West Kennet Long Barrow, one of the finest chambered tombs in Britain.

A few miles south of Stonehenge, and just outside the city of Salisbury, is Old Sarum, site of the first Salisbury Cathedral. The site is protected by high earthen banks enclosing a wide grassed area that once held a cathedral and a medieval castle. Tension between the monks of the cathedral and soldiers of the castle meant that the cathedral moved in the 13th century to its present site.
