    Outside
The house looks out towards the North Sea across a large green, with direct access to a long sandy beach. It is part of a quiet estate of white weatherboard beach bungalows built in the 1930s, each privately owned. The pretty garden has a wide view across the green to the sea. Safe for children, it is fenced with parking space available.

    Local area
Bacton has a wonderful wide sandy beach, which never gets crowded - even in the peak summer season. Quiet, with no public road or car park there is good sea fishing, and some people swim all the year round, occasionally in the company of a visiting seal or porpoise!

Bacton is about half an hour’s drive north-east of Norwich, on the coast, approximately half way between Cromer to the north, and Great Yarmouth to the south. The village is surrounded by farmland and plenty of interesting places to visit. The nearest market town (and train station) is at North Walsham.

This peaceful rural coastal location is great for walks, with the Paston Way and Weaver’s Way close by, bike rides, bird-watching, fishing, painting, photography and fossil-hunting. There are golf courses at Mundesley (with driving range), Cromer, West Runton, Sheringham and Sprowston.

Close to the Norfolk Broads, with boat hire, nature reserves, picturesque pubs and windmills. Further up the North Norfolk coast you can take a boat trip to visit a seal colony at Blakeney or travel by steam train on various routes. National Trust country houses nearby include Blickling Hall and Felbrigg Hall.

Guests may also visit the Happisburgh Lighthouse, the Victorian seaside resorts of Cromer and Sheringham, or the market towns of North Walsham, Aylsham (great auctions!), Stalham, or the lovely shops and galleries of Holt. Norwich is a half-hour drive, with its historic castle, cathedral, shops, restaurants and arts venues.
