Holiday Cottages Penrith: A Self catering Cottage in Cumbria Lake District

Recently extended and refurbished this 19th century sandstone cottage stands alone on a quiet country road surrounded by half an acre of garden with delightful views towards The Lake District, Pennines and Greystoke Castle.

Interior

The interior offers spacious ground floor accommodation comprising a large entrance hall with cloakroom, and access, through double doors, to the garden; a generous sized sitting room with Jotul Gas Fire, 32inch HD Freeview Television, DVD player, audio system, telephone point; well appointed fitted kitchen with gas hob and electric fan oven, dishwasher and refrigerator and dining facilities for 10/12 people; a second kitchen with fridge/freezer and electric cooker. The utility room houses the washing machine with drying options and a boiler room has an extra fridge/freezer and electric cooker.

The two ground floor bedrooms are a twin bedroom with built-in wardrobes and a double bedroom also with fitted cupboards. Two additional guests may be accommodated on the sofa-bed in the sitting room. The shower room has a walk-in shower, washbasin and W.C.. These excellent ground floor facilities make Mains Cottage suitable for the less able. The ground floor has partial under-floor heating and radiators.

On the first floor, the master bedroom has its own en-suite shower room, and the second bedroom is a family room with twin beds plus two 2’6” beds suitable for children. The separate bathroom contains a bath, wash basin and WC.

A cot and high chair are provided. All central heating and hot water are included in the rental but the gas fire is charged by £1 coin meter.

Strictly no smoking is allowed inside the cottage. Up to 2 dogs allowed at an additional £20 charge per dog per week 'or £15 per dog for short breaks. Babysitting may be available by arrangement.

Outside

Mains Cottage has a safe, private, enclosed garden, ideal for children and pets with a patio area with garden furniture and a barbecue. There is ample parking for three cars.

Area

This wonderful rural area offers good walking, with a village pub within half a mile. A choice of good restaurants and good food pubs are situated nearby. A private all weather tennis court, heated outdoor swimming pool and shop can all be found within walking distance.

With easy access to Lake Ullswater, Glenridding and Patterdale Mains Cottage is in a perfect Lake District location. It is close to the edge of the National Park and a good centre for exploring the northern fells, John Peel Country, the Eden Valley and the Roman Wall.
