| Demeter Cottage is a traditional fisherman's cottage set in the heart of old Whitby, at the top of White Horse Yard, reached only by steps, it is extremely quiet and peaceful, yet only a minute away from cobbled Church Street with its shops, restaurants and bars, and only 2 minutes walk away from the beach. | ||

Demeter Cottage is a 2 bedroomed holiday cottage which sleeps 4 comfortably, but can accommodate six using the sofa bed. It is arranged over three floors with views from the bedrooms across to the West Cliff and views of the sea from the top floor. It was totally refurbished in 2005 with new carpets throughout, a new bathroom, decorations etc. It is furnished with a mix of contemporary and antique pine furniture. There are five rooms in total – a kitchen, sitting room, two bedrooms and a bathroom. The double bedroom on the top floor has 2 large velux windows, with views of the sea and the West Cliff. It contains a king-size Victorian style bed. The second bedroom has twin single beds, making it an ideal cottage for a family or a party of adults. The clean, modern, black and white bathroom, with a shower over the bath is on the first floor. The kitchen with dining area has a fridge, with freezer compartment, oven & hob, a microwave, toaster and kettle. It is well equipped with new crockery etc. The light sitting room has a new flat screen TV with Freeview Satellite channels and a DVD player. A collection of DVD's is provided for visitors to use and there is an audio system with radio and CD player. There are novels to read, including books of local interest. The cottage is much loved and is maintained to a very high standard. Also provided are an iron and ironing board, hairdryer and radio. The cottage has gas central heating and a living flame fire. A car parking permit is provided which allows free parking in a nearby car park. |

All the attractions of Whitby are within easy walking distance - Whitby Abbey, the harbour, the Marina, Dracula Experience and the West Cliff. A little further afield is 'Heartbeat' country, which lies very close to Whitby, as do the picturesque fishing villages of Robin Hoods Bay and Staithes.
