The earliest parts of this character farmhouse date from pre-1700, with later additions through Georgian and Victorian times. For large numbers the farmhouse offers excellent value self catering accommodation. The interior has been restored to a high standard designed for year round comfort.

The very large lounge features a huge wood burning stove in an ancient fireplace surrounded by comfortable seating with TV and video provided. The dining area also has a wood burner, and the excellent central heating throughout ensures this Welsh holiday cottage is very warm. The long kitchen is fully equipped with a full range of mod cons in a traditional setting.

Plenty of character features remain including slatted latched doors, polished wood stairs and attractively turned banisters, beams, shutters and fireplaces. The large master bedroom is dominated by the old, Jacobean style four poster bed and has ample storage plus an en-suite with roll top bath. The further two large double bedrooms share a second bathroom.

    Outside:
Seating is provided to enjoy the great scenery and uninterrupted views of the countryside, with a large area of lawned gardens, dry stone walls, streams running through the grounds and a small waterfall. The farm is not overlooked by neighbours and nor does it overlook anyone else. Guests are completely surrounded, on all sides, by countryside at the end of a long private drive away the road.

    Local area:
There are extensive woodland areas and open fields to wander around both within the grounds, as well as many local mountain walks to explore (joining onto the Beacons Way). Just up the road, is the famous Henrhyd waterfalls and a choice of walks across the glorious Brecon Beacons.

Guests may use the the sports room and hot tub at Craig y Nos Castle, for no charge. There are four excellent pub/restaurants within a mile or two of the farmhouse - including the Penycae Inn (excellent for food - about 1 mile), the Ancient Briton (excellent for real ales - about 1.5 miles), plus of course, fine dining at Craig y Nos Castle which you can even walk across country to get to, from the farm.

In season, don't miss the Dan Yr Ogof Welsh Showcaves (3.5 miles) and Dinosaur Park, the nearby animal sanctuary - a small zoo really – (3 miles) and be sure to visit Brecon market  town -25 miles away or enjoy a fine weather visit to the Gower - one hour's drive to the south.
